Constellation Cleaners – Lead Programmer

Overview

On Constellation Cleaners, I was lead programmer. Our team was given 8 months to produce a short high-quality game from scratch. It was my job to guide our programming team through the development of all core systems. In the end, I spent most of my time managing the programming team, designing in-engine and scripting in both visual and text-based languages.

Leadership
  • Lead team of programmers; everything done in house
  • Developed programming roadmap
  • Assigned tasks, provided code review and gave feedback to programmers

Design and Building
  • Implement player and tool animations
  • Work with FX artist to improve visual clarity and reduce performance impact
  • Placing/adjusting props and decorations to improve level flow since environment artists were working on other sections.
  • Countless misc. bug fixes and adjustments for better pacing.
Other
  • Worked with other leads to cut content as to remain in scope
  • Adapted Allar’s UE4 style guide and created guides for team members
  • Upload builds to itch.io page; write all dev logs
  • Bug test final builds to prepare for expo
  • Show the game at college’s game expo
